Process, Roles and Responsibilities

What is the PRR working group?

The Process, Roles and Responsibilities Working Group (PRR WG) is part of the London Market Group’s Data Council, and was created to establish who will do what (and at what stage) during the target-state digital placement process. It was created to give more clarity to those involved in the process, as well as to give guidance to solution providers on what to build and cater for.

Following the near completion of the Core Data Record (CDR), the LMG’s Data Council put together some suggested recommendations for what the new processes, roles and responsibilities could look like within the target-state data/digital journey. These recommendations were put together based on input from market associations, brokers, carriers and service vendors.

PRR Consultation

Earlier this year, the LMG Data Council ran a consultation process to sense check the recommendations against the business outcomes required by the market, as well as understand if the processes will address previously identified pain points and opportunities for increased operating effectiveness and efficiency.

The consultation looked to gather feedback on the recommended process of who creates and approves the CDR, and when this is submitted to the Digital Gateway.

There was an overwhelming response to the consultation, with a total of 3366 comments from 90 organisations (89% of the 101 that nominated a point of contact). Thank you to everyone involved for their time, effort and expertise.

You can view the detailed outcomes of the consultation, including a summary infographic and full report below.

PRR Final Recommendations

Having considered feedback provided in the Process, Roles and Responsibilities (PRR) Market Consultation earlier this year, the London Market Group’s Data Council has now published its PRR Final Recommendations.

This key deliverable sets out the final recommendations for a fully digital open market placement process, and the allocation of roles and responsibilities for the creation, approval and submission of data into the Core Data Record (CDR) and the processing of that data.

The recommendations are the first part of a trilogy of important documents to be published in sequence over the next three months, which together will help drive adoption of the new, digital ways of working. The three documents are:

  • PRR Final Recommendations – now published
  • ACORD GRLC Contract, Risk & Pre-Accounting Toolkit – to be published in August 2023
  • Good Practice Guide – to be published in September / October 2023
